Frame Running is a ground-breaking para-athletics event that opens the door to running, speed, and independence for people with neurological conditions and similar mobility impairments.

For many, it’s the first time in their lives they’ve experienced the joy of running — and the smiles and freedom it brings are unforgettable.

Using a specially designed three-wheeled frame, often called a “running frame” or “race runner”, participants sit on a saddle with their feet touching the ground. A chest plate supports their upper body whilst they and use their legs and feet to propel themselves forward. No pedals, just the natural power of movement.

It is fast, fun, and adaptable, offering people the chance to experience exercise, speed, and competition, no matter their walking ability.

Manchester Frame Running Hub

In 2022, we proudly established the Manchester Frame Running Hub, opening up an exciting opportunity for disabled people across the North West to experience the thrill and freedom of running—many for the very first time.

The hub has quickly become a place where individuals of all ages and abilities can discover the joy of movement, whether that’s building fitness, working towards personal goals, or simply enjoying the sense of speed and independence that Frame Running provides.

All sessions are led by qualified coaches who bring expertise, encouragement, and a passion for inclusion, supported by a dedicated team of friendly volunteers. Together, they create a welcoming and safe atmosphere where every athlete feels supported, celebrated, and inspired to push their own boundaries.
